Voter Information
ALL ELECTIONS ARE HELD AT:
OLD HAMMONDTOWN SCHOOL AT THE END OF SHAW STREET. Local Election hours are 10AM to 8PM. State and Federal Election hours are 7:00AM TO 8:00PM.

VOTER REGISTRATION
Are you a registered voter? Is the information current? Are you sure?
Be sure to complete a voter registration form if you:
are new to town and would like to vote in future elections
moved to a new address within town
                changed your name
want to change parties or unenroll from a party.

How do I register to vote?
You may register in person in the Town Clerk's Office, by mail with a special form which can be sent to you and at the RMV when you renew your driver's license. There are also special registration sessions when the office is open until 8pm 7 to 20 days before Elections and Town Meetings.

How do I get an absentee ballot?
Absentee ballots are available for registered voters who are unable to vote at the polls due to:
absence from ftown between polling hours on election day
a physical disability preventing the voter from going to the polling place
                or a religious belief.
You complete the form we provide or send in a letter which states your name, voting address, the elections you want absentee ballots for and where you want your absentee ballot to be sent. It will be sent to you by mail. You may if you wish have a family member apply for your absentee ballot. Any request for a Primary election must include the ballot you wish to receive if you are not already declared in a party, i.e. democratic, republican. Noon the day before an election is the last hour to request an absentee ballot. As a practical matter, if your ballot is being mailed any distance, you must file your request early. All ballots must be received back in the Town Clerk's Office by 8:00pm on election day.
